Components of Starting Blocks
Footrests (Pedals): These are adjustable platforms where the runner places their feet. They are typically made of rubber or plastic and can be angled to suit the athlete's preference.
Frame: The frame is the main structure of the starting blocks, usually made of metal. It connects the footrests and provides stability.
Spikes: These are located on the underside of the frame and dig into the track surface to prevent the blocks from slipping during the start.
